My business name came to be from the idea that I wanted to let love be as it is – elegant, beautiful, simple. I tell all my clients that I want them to look back on their images and remember how they felt. I want them to see the love, bliss, emotion, and pure joy of their wedding day, and I want them to laugh at the photo of your grandfather dancing on stage with the band. Being present isn’t always easy on a wedding day. After all the planning and coordination that a couple and their family put into a wedding day, it’s hard to take a deep breath in soak in every moment and not around to make sure that moment is being captured.  It is my greatest wish to take that burden from each of my clients. I hope to instill that trust in them that myself and my team will be there to capture the start of their marriage… that they can not only be in the moment on their wedding day but relive that moment each time they look through their photos.

This collection of images shows my favorite ‘caught’ or candid moments of 2016 and capturing each of these moments is what makes me fall in love with weddings all over again each weekend.

When it all feels so real and it hits you that you are marrying the man of your dreams…

The bride’s mom was placing on her daughter the same veil that she wore on her own wedding day (made by her mother, the bride’s grandmother).

I had walked out of the room to make sure the groom was ready for the first look and walked back in to find this beautiful moment between this sweet bride, Melanie, and her mom.

The in-between moments are my favorite.  On the left below the bride did a first look with her father. As they both got emotional she kept repeating, “Today is a great day. It’s going to be such a good day.” This bride’s sweet flower girl was waiting patiently in the foyer. 

Another great father daughter first look was with Ellen and her father. He literally had to catch his breath and said, “You’re beautiful! So beautiful! It shouldn’t be surprised but you are so beautiful.” We were all in tears.

 

When toddlers are being toddlers and just want to mean mug in their wagon… there is lots of back up – ha! Thanks to my assistant Meghan Murphy for this behind the scenes moment.

I meet so many family members that are matriarchs of the family. Many grandparents that I met this year set such an example in their own marriage and looked at each other with just as much joy and love in their eyes on their grandchild’s wedding day as they did at their own. It is so inspiring the way they loved each other and their family.

The flower girl below and her sister were so curious throughout the whole wedding day. They took their job very seriously and I fell in love with the way they peaked at the bride and her friends throughout the day 🙂

        

The moments with a bride and her father before they walk down the isle, to me, is one of the most sacred moments of the day. Capturing this moment is my favorite part of every wedding.

Below, you’ll see that Carla decided that the show must go on despite the rain. Her outdoor ceremony at The Barn at Shady Lane in the rain was so magical and I definitely think was good luck 😉
