Kate and Riley: Regions Field Wedding

Wedding

She said he is kind, hard-working, honest and he said she is kind, intelligent, empathetic.

With their one year anniversary coming up, I can’t help but reminisce on Kate and Riley’s gorgeous Birmingham wedding! Dorothy McDaniel’s absolutely blew us away with all of the gorgeous floral decor and bouquets for this wedding. Riley and Kate married in the church that Kate’s mother and grand-mother were married in, and I loved hearing family stories about this legacy and even re-enacting a wedding photo or two from her family’s wedding photos. After a short reception at the church post-ceremony, the party moved to Regions Field, home of the Birmingham Barons minor league baseball team. This is such a beautiful venue to show off our city, and the sunset of Railroad Park truly displays the magic of Birmingham (I guess that’s why we call it The Magic City!). In 2008, Kate and Riley’s relationship began at a Baron’s game so of course it made sense to kick off their married life where it all started. Kate is getting her PhD in Ecology from University of Virginia and Riley is getting his PhD in Computer Science from Columbia. They are a power couple that loves Star trek, exploring library sales, and spending their free time connecting with citizen scientists in Virginia delivering bee hotels. I had so much fun getting to capture this sweet couple’s special day and I can’t wait to watch how they change the world!

A special thanks for Lawrence Knox for assisting me and to all the amazing vendors listed at the bottom that made this day happen!
