Fall Greenhouse and Birmingham Overlook Engagement Session

Engagement

If this fall greenhouse and Birmingham overlook engagement session doesn’t have you ready to bust out your fall candles and sweaters, than I don’t what will. Giselle and Sam’s engagement session was so easy – full of comfort, fall feels, and lots of strong (made it through long distance) love! Giselle and Sam met during their freshman year at Birmingham-Southern College. After constantly bumping into each other at SGA meetings and date parties, Giselle started crushing hard on Sam. The summer after freshman year, Sam finally asked Giselle out and the rest is history!

After college and over two years of long distance, Sam came to Birmingham for Halloween weekend. Since Sam hadn’t visited town in a while, he told Giselle they were going to join his brother and sister-in-law for dinner in Tuscaloosa. The group made their way to a nearby (and favorite) coffee shop after dinner. After ordering drinks, Sam took Giselle out to the back courtyard. It was beautifully decorated with lights, candles, and rose petals, and it was there that Sam proposed. After a few moments together, they returned back inside to find both of their families there and ready to celebrate. These family filled celebrations get me everytime!

I encourage all my couple to choose locations that are meaningful to them and their relationship. Due to Giselle’s love of plants, we started the evening at Shoppe Bham. If you haven’t been there yet, green thumb or not, you have to check out this wonderful plant and beauty oasis. Next we headed to Samford University, where Giselle is in graduation school, to capture fall at its finest. We caught the changing of the leaves and all the beauty of this indoor/outdoor study space perfectly. I told her I was so jealous that these were her study break and walking to class views… I mean… so beautiful and relaxing. Lastly, we headed to one of my favorite Birmingham overlooks at sunset to celebrate the city where they fell in love and where they will get married oh so soon! Giselle and I have been counting down the days to her wedding and I cannot wait to capture all the love that I know will be overflowing on their special day.
