Classic Birmingham Wedding at The Florentine

Wedding

She says he is driven, genuine, and outgoing and he says she is bubbly, tenacious, and loving.

This classic Birmingham wedding at the Florentine and Advent Cathedral was just one big joy bomb! From day one of talking about marrying Sam, Giselle has been full of nothing but big-grinned-joy basically busting at the seams with happiness. It has been so fun witnessing their relationship from dating, to engagement excitement and now marriage full of so much unrestrained happiness.

Their wedding day was perfect and classic and full of so many beautiful moments! Giselle’s parents are two of the cutest humans ever and both families could not have been more genuine, helpful, and welcoming. We started the day getting ready at the Tutwiler and I have to say the men in uniform looked extra sharp with this gorgeous historic building as a backdrop. Sam is in the Navy and I loved learning about the different traditions their specific branch practiced. Giselle gifted Sam his first sword on their wedding day, and they later used it at the reception to cut the cake. You can tell in the photos that Sam was just a little bit excited to receive this amazing and thoughtful gift!

Their ceremony was at the Cathedral Church of the Advent and their sword arch was such a fun moment. As they passed each arch they were challenged with the phrase, “A kiss to pass.” It was adorable! Their reception was  at The Florentine and couldn’t have been more timeless. This is one of my favorite venues, and this reception was extra special because my mom, S. Arias Creates, was actually hired to do a live event painting at the reception. Christina Sloan Events and The Florentine‘s in-house florist, Michael Sanchez, put together such a beautiful, classic feel for Giselle and Sam’s reception and 2nd Coming kept the dance floor full all night!

Some of my favorite moments were: Sam serenading Giselle, Giselle and her father’s first look, and the sword arch at their ceremony.

These two have been long distance for a longggg time so I’m so excited for them to get to start live together under the same roof finally as husband and wife! Congrats, Giselle and Sam! Your love is so big and it was such a blessing to watch that love spill over to all the friends and family surrounding you as you started your marriage. Love you!
